Fall's almost here

Hello Friends, The month of August has flown by and now September coolness is a welcome relief from the heat! The Hoskins continue to attempt to keep up with life. Tom is hopefully settled into a new job. We are hoping this one lasts a while. In July his office with FracTech suddenly closed and we were scampering to find another job. Tom was able to find a job with Badger Daylighting which is an industrial clean up/ trench digging company. It was very "icky" work and most of the time Tom came home smelling and looking like he had taken a mud bath everyday. So he continued to look for other options and a position at a cabinet shop became available and he started running their edge bander about two weeks ago. It is a middle size company that makes cabinets for offices and other commercial buildings. It is only 10 minutes away from our house and it is so wonderful to have him home for dinner every night. Tom is also doing a couple of online classes this fall so that keeps him out of trouble in the evenings. He is working toward his engineering degree. Alex started preschool this fall and is loving it. His favorite thing to do is art and playing with the toys and singing new silly songs. He always has a new adventure and he is loving life. One funny story...We were at McDonald's (yes, I hate to admit that we actually eat there every once in a great while......) anyway, there was a payphone by one of the doors and Alex asked me what it was. So, now I know that I'm getting old. I told him that it was what people used before they had cellphones, or if someone doesn't have a cellphone they can put money into it and call someone. He gave me a weird look and climbed into the car. You don't realize how time flies until this moments. Alex also did another round of gymnastics over the summer and can't wait to have another class in the spring. He still loves his Thomas trains the most and can now set up quite a track system in his room. The trick is keeping Callum out since Callum can now open doors. Which bring me to Callum. He just celebrated his two year old birthday and he is absolutely hilarious. If there is a crowd, Callum will be entertaining. He can put on the cutest expressions and I laugh everyday with him. He is always coming up with something new. It's hard to come up with one specific story, because every moment of life is "fun" for him. I am substitute teaching again this fall. I love being in the classroom, but it is really hard getting up at 5:30 to get the kids to either my grandparents or sister's house. I'm so thankful for their help. Here are a few pics, but if you want to see more, you can go to Facebook. I pray that fall can be a time of coolness and joy for each of you! Blessings, Amanda
